Our Mission

To build communities of families who want to play in nature year round, to empower families to take part in outdoor activities and to encourage all to follow the lead of our children, with the forest and other natural settings as their outdoor classroom.

Why You Love the Outdoors:

When our family explores the outdoors something magical always happens!  It is calming and exciting all at the same time.  Growing up my family enjoyed camping on the beach and in the forest - some of my favorite memories as a child. It is wonderful to now be watching my children experience nature and the outdoors, creating their own memories, and building on my own.

What You Bring to FSFA:

I enjoy planning, organizing and helping others.  When I realized I could use these skills to help families enjoy the forest, and create their own groups, I was inspired to find a way to make it happen!  It is exciting to share my experience, knowledge, and support to other families and help build the Forest School For All community.

Why You Love the Outdoors:

As a child, my backyard was the Allegheny National Forest. My neighbors and I spent hours building forts, playing fairies, planting "gardens". We foraged our own berries to make blackberry pie and "rode" the creek to the local park. The woods was our playground only hampered by our imagination. At the time, I didn't know that I was lucky to have it, and I want my kids to feel that lucky.

.

What You Bring to FSFA:

I bring perseverance to keep trying to answer the technical questions so our own dreams of having our kids play in the woods with friends is only hampered by our imaginations.

Why You Love the Outdoors:

There is something magical about being in the outdoors, especially as a family. All of our senses come alive. We can't help but be present in the moment, inspired by what we come across. It leaves us truly happy. I never expected the outdoors to be such a huge part of our rhythm, but we connect, discover, create and are filled with more awe and gratitude there than in any other setting. Love us some nature!

What You Bring to FSFA:

I am a traveling family photographer and blog about family travel, outdoor play and slow living on my site family+footprints. I'm energized to bring my ideas, my voice and my lens to Forest School For All's inspiring mission.

Our Story

Forest School For All was created to help families connect outdoors - with each other and with nature itself. Through our many growing forest school locations, we aim for families who seek outdoor communities and outdoor play experiences to be able to find, join or start a location near them. Forest School For All goes beyond our branch communities to also serve as a resource for ideas, inspiration and guides on how to get the most out of you family’s time in nature. You’ll find regular, seasonally-based content that goes hand-in-hand with your experience, along with ways to deepen your outdoor play and the benefits to your family. This platform was designed by parents who saw first-hand the powerful takeaways of unstructured, free play in the woods. We wanted to offer the same opportunities to those who have children in their lives and were interested in taking part in these types of communities - large and small. As the creators of Forest School For All, we first want to welcome you to our online community. We hope you find all the support and access you seek for outdoor play, and beyond.

.

See you in the forest!
